Sept. 21, 2002
Tim, Greetings, I received your one page flier a couple of weeks ago. I have given serious consideration to a trip back to ST. Louis. However, it does not seem that I will be able to make it for the reunion. I would much have enjoyed visiting with those who come. Nonetheless, I have been moved to write. Within the full mixture of feelings and memories are many, many fond ones. I am truly sorry that I will not be able to visit with those who return. By way of news: After attending SLUH I went on to Notre Dame. Then back to Mizzou to med school. St. Johnıs Mercy (in Creve Coeur) for 1st Yr. Residency in Family Practice Then off to New Mexico, for 14 years 2 years in Albuquerque finishing specialty training in Family Practice 12 years in a small town between Santa Fe and Taos (very poor, chronic 25% unemployment!!!) 5 years in Las Vegas, NV 2.5 Teaching at a FP Residency Program 2.2 as Med Director for a Community Health Center 2 years in So. California teaching FP with USC 5 years in Phoenix 1 Teaching and Managing a FP Residency Program 4 years as a mercenary ³doc-for-hire² (to spend more time at home with kids) 1+ years and NOW back in New Mexico, working with the poor in Albuquerque 17 y/o son, junior at local (and only !!!) Catholic high school (it is very different out here in the West - Catholics and Catholic Education are not so prosperous!!) 13 y/o daughter, in 8th grade Wife is still back in Phoenix. We are still married! Donıt be confused by her keeping her maiden name (Louella Terese Roybal), but I just could not imagine myself getting into bed every night with another Hennelly, particularly one of the Hennelly girls. She gets over here every 2-3 weeks. And if this economy improves, or God shows us another way for her to find satisfactory work in New Mexico, she will move back I would love to be able to transplant many of the So. St. Louis values to this physically beautiful area. The people/children have all the potential the adult role models are limited. We are blessed with family, friends, and property in beautiful Northern New Mexico. But this is a very poor state (the Mississippi of the Southwest) so we stay busy working. But we look forward to spending time with friends if any are coming out this way, just give us advance notice so we can plan. I would love to here of and about any and all class-mates. May God bless all of you that are still connected to your bodies. And may He grant the promise of Eternal Life to the souls of our classmates who have completed the race. Warmly, Michael Hennelly

Hi, Tim, Since I won't be able to make I thought I would update you on family etc. My husband, Marty, and I live in La Crescent, MN, a bedroom community to La Crosse, WI. We are both in IT: he is at Northern Engraving and I am at Hal Leonard Corporation. We have 2 children: Sarah, who is 18 and finishing up her senior year at Aquinas High School in La Crosse. We are in the thick of looking for colleges right now. She is about as active as 1 teen can be. She play basketball and soccer and during her "off" season she is an athletic trainer. She hopes to make that her profession. In addition she is active in SADD, NHS, Junior League and 4-H among other things. Daniel is 16 and a sophomore at the same high school. His lives for the computer. He is also preparing to get his drivers license. Marty grew up on a farm and is a weekend farmer. He has a large garden and supplies us (as well as his parents) with tasty vegetables not to mention a bumper crop of popcorn. Today, he and Dan are off to the farm to cut wood to supply our woodburning stove. Our home is on the bluffs in apple country overlooking the Mississippi River. At a time when Sarah's friends' parents are moving she tells her friends that they will always be able to find us because we will stay here forever. It truly is God's country. I play the piano for our church guitar choir and I am going to retire from being 4-H leader after 3 years. I am going out with a bang - our club just won the "Share the Fun" competition at the Minnesota State Fair on August 30 with our skit celebrating the 100 year anniversary of 4-H. For those of you who remember my parents, Mom and Dad are living in West Palm Beach, FL. Dad has macular degeneration and coping fairly well. He is trying all kinds of tools on the computer so he doesn't miss what he loves. Mom has a degenerative spine problem, so can't walk or stand very long. In spite of it all, both are healty and of sound mind, the most important thing of all. Have a wonderful reunion. Thanks for all you are doing. Hope you get a good turnout. home: nitramessap@aol.com work: kpasse@halleonard.com Kathy Maher Passe

From Mike Hennelly 10-03-02 Tim,
The pictures are great.
I have kept in touch with Jim Crowe, and it was great to see him there.
Don Bellon looks great.
I miss not having had a chance to visit with many who showed up.
Jay Jiardina and I roomed together a year at Mizzou -- after college.
I sure picked a pretty girl to place my first hetero-sexual, extra-familiar kiss upon -- Linda Moxley - you look great.
Barb/Bernie, I missed the visit.
I believe that we got work to Sr. Mary Alcuin (already) that the Hennelly kids turned out pretty well (academically) -- despite her worst fears. But if she is interested in a blow by blow, just let me know and I will write.
So, Nick Hogan, Jim McCartney, and Harry Simmons missed out --
I still remember well how Joe Gresnick could run the football in those tackle games at Francis Park.
Sorry I missed you guys.
